The eternal flower is a perennial small shrub, with many branches and stems 1 to 2 feet high, upright or lying, and very narrow whitish leaves as the whole plant. In the stem tips very small heads sprout, born so close that seem to agglomerate; they are tiny, of about 5 or 6 mm. of diameter, with a rounded involucre, formed by numerous small scales of gold-coloured shine. It blooms since May. It grows on the hills and slopes of all kinds of soil, sea sand areas and so on, of almost all of Spain and Portugal.
Its chemical composition rich in flavonoids and phenolic compounds confer antioxidant and purifying properties.
